چکیده
in order to study the biostratigraphy and paleoecology of the early miocene in south west of kerman province, one section (gefriz) has been chosen, measured and sampled. the thickness of measured section is about 67 m. it consists mainly of thin to thick bedded limestone and marl. at this section, the early miocene deposits nonconformably lie between volcano sedimentary eocene at the base, and covers with recent alluvium at the top. 40 samples collected and studied from this section led to identification of 22 genera and species of benthic foraminifera. as there is no formal biozonation for the qom formation, the schemes erected by wynd (1965) and laursen et al. (2009) used here .based on identified foraminifera, two assemblages recognized as: 1. austrotrillina howchini, peneroplis thomasi assemblage zone 2. elphidium sp., miogypsina sp. assemblage zone based on foraminifera, the age of strata in the studied section is early miocene (aquitanian). paleoecological studies showed that a warm and favorable condition, such as light, oxygen and food, has been prevailed during the deposition of the strata.

A total of 12 species of marine gastropods, among which two taxa are new, is reported for the first time from the Miocene deposits of Khavich section, south of Sirjan, Kerman. Gastropods assemblage in Khavich area indicates deposition in shallow, warm ramp-type carbonate platform. The Miocene and even Oligocene gastropod assemblages, relatively similar to Khavich section, reported from the othe...

In this research systematics and biostratigraphy of the Cretaceous deposits foraminifera in Kerch section, southwestern Qayen, in the eastern margin of the Lut Block, were studied in detail. This section with 260 meters thickness, mainly formed by gray to cream color marl and shale, marly limestone and limestone laid on a light-colored limestone bed at the base. Seventeen genera and twenty two ...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis, basin evolution and paleoecology of Early Miocene ostracods in the southwest of Kerman, Iran
This paper focuses on the quantitative analyses of Early Miocene ostracods in south and north of the Sirjan area, southwest of Kerman. Detailed studies resulted in identification of 23 species of ostracoda. The coexisting benthic foraminifera and comparing the identified microfauna assemblages with previous studies confirms the Early Miocene age for the strata. The quantitative analysis show a ...
متن کاملBiostratigraphy and paleoecology of Paleogen rocks based on calcareous nannofossil in Kafaz section, east Iran
In this study, the assemblage of calcareous nannofossils has been investigated in long and continuous deposits from a Kafaz section in Eastern Iran. A systematic study of calcareous nannofossils has indicated 39 nannofossils species. In order to the age determination of Kafaz's deposits, a revised zonation for the Eocene is used. Based on it, the Early-Middle Eocene deposits of Kafaz section is...
